FOCUS OF THE WEEK
Top 4 Most Relevant AI Tech in CES 2024

Here's what we think are the AI gadgets that you will care about:
(a) Gadgets that genuinely incorporate AI, rather than just calling themselves "AI tech" while being nothing more than glorified Nespresso machines for cocktails (a shoutout to Bartesian).
(b) Gadgets that average consumers might actually buy someday, as opposed to impractical show-offs like C SEED's foldable 137" TV or a Holobox that displays real-life holograms of the person you are talking to.
#1 Rabbit R1

Another attempt to create a portable AI assistant. This time, the Rabbit R1 boasts promising features including learning how the user interacts with their regular apps on their phones and replicating these actions. Eventually, the user can simply instruct the device to call an Uber or order food delivery on their behalf.
#2 Motion Pillow

Rejoice! People who are considering breaking up with/divorcing your snoring partners!
By utilizing an advanced AI Motion System, the pillow can intelligently detect and identify instances of snoring. It then employs a gradual inflation of airbags, gently raising the user's head and opening their airway to alleviate snoring for a more peaceful sleep experience.
There is also an app that monitors the user’s quality of sleep, e.g. the duration of snoring episodes, keeps a record of airbag operation time, generates an insightful sleep score, captures the total duration of sleep, and even allows users to store and listen to recordings of their snoring episodes for later analysis.
#3 Bmind Smart Mirror

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who’s the most mentally unwell of them all?
BMind employs AI, including Generative AI for interactive conversations and coaching experiences, as well as Natural Language Processing for sentiment analysis. By identifying various sentiments, It also adapts to the user's mood, offering light therapy sessions and personalized, auto-generated mindfulness exercises like guided meditation and self-affirmations.
#4 Chef AI One-Touch Airfryer
For all you aspiring to-be Blue Ribbon chefs out there: Press Start.
The One-Touch Airfryer will detect the type of food inside and determine the appropriate temperature and cooking duration. With the help of AI, not your wannabe Blue Ribbon brains.

The founder has as interesting of a history as the necklace itself.
Avi Schiffmann, Harvard dropout, youth ambassador to the UN (after benefitting tens of millions of people with his Covid-19 tracking website) and creator of the Ukraine Take Shelter website (matched 100,000 Ukrainians with open homes).
As far as the Tab necklace, the prototype captures images every 30 seconds and utilizes pre-ChatGPT vision models to interpret the user's surroundings and actions. This functionality can be beneficial for encouraging healthy habits or providing therapists with a comprehensive activity log. However, Schiffmann later opted to remove the camera and shift the focus towards audio transcription instead.

And props to Google for keeping this available in their extension store. 🙃
ROAST PROFILES

I was going to roast the people whose misuse of ChatGPT backfired on them (asking ChatGPT to do that for me):
…I’m now rooting for people who are abusing the LLM models.
